$45m redevelopment of the Bridgeport Hotel has begun

The $45 MILLION redevelopment of the Bridgeport Hotel in Murray Bridge is underway and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2021.

The development will feature a modern six storey Hotel building with contemporary exterior, complimented by an inspired organic interior. The development’s centre piece will be 100 high quality suite rooms drawing guests from around the globe. Guest facilities include an outdoor pool and bar, gymnasium and dedicated under-croft carparking. The Hotel’s ground floor will feature a sports bar, lounge bar, two dining/function areas, gaming lounge, indoor and outdoor children’s play areas, alfresco bar and seating areas. The first floor will house a dedicated conference room designed to cater for large scale events and functions.

A large state of the art three lane drive-through Bottleshop is currently under construction as the development’s first stage. A temporary Hotel facility will be constructed alongside the Bottleshop to allow for trading whilst the main hotel building is being constructed. The new Bottleshop and temporary Hotel facility is expected to be completed and operational in September 2019.

The owners of EDP Hotels, Graham Hobbs and Ian Tregoning believe that “Murray Bridge has been long overdue for high quality accommodation which will act as a springboard for local tourism. The Bend, Monarto Zoo, golf, horse racing and all forms of River activities will all benefit enormously from the Bridgeport Hotel redevelopment. Tourism in S.A. will have a new focal point in the Murray Bridge region helping all local businesses to flourish.”

The new Hotel is expected to employ 100+ staff, more than doubling the existing hotel’s workforce. At the peak of the Hotel’s construction around 200 construction workers are expected on site each day.

The Bridgeport Hotel is destined to become a landmark building in an iconic River view location.

Progress of this exciting new development will be posted on the Bridgeport Hotel’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
